This gets closer to what I’ve been saying for a few months now, but it misses the real risk. Every seat in the House is up for reelection. When the Trump campaign or the GOP invalidate a ballot, it affects the whole ballot, not just the presidential election. So it’s entirely possible — I think likely — that their legal strategy will be file challenges in ways that would make any House majority impossible. Imagine waking up to realize the Dems have nothing: they can’t say they won the White House, they don’t have the Senate, their claim on the House is fragile and contested, and they’ve lost the Supreme Court. This could very well be the trap the current Dem leadership is walking into just weeks from now. And if it happens, as always, they’ll blame their only constituents who’ve shown real ideas and energy for the last several years: the left.
