Really nice, short essay on book cover design by a student I learned a lot from from day one, Erik Carter. I worked on the new and revised Kafka translations from Schocken, and I remember being astounded at how much violence the Muirs had done to the poor guy — and how crappy the new designs were, inside and out, ugh. So it’s especially great to see such a sharp, witty design for this book that’s about being about Kafka (not a typo). Now we just need someone to rescue Orwell from ‘Orwellian’…
