A multi-FOAF just named Marc Campbell posted some album covers designed for the Prestige label by the cartoonist Don Martin, who AFAIK (and I know pretty far) is known almost exclusively for his work for Mad magazine. His Mad cartoons — hyperstylized people, simple compositions, all outline no texture, etc — became so established that it’s astonishing to see drawings that show signs of Edward Gorey or, more obscurely, Irving Geis. There might be more in a 2009 book that bills itself plainly as Prestige Records: The Album Cover Collection, but coffee-table collections like that tend to be more curatorial than completist, so it’s easy to imagine that Martin’s designs — if there are any more — might drop out.
