I don’t comment on people’s looks, weight, etc, but this pic of Putin’s spokesman’s daughter (or whatever) is something else, as if Versace’s next season was inspired by James Ensor. Someone else should write volume 3 of Klaus Theweleit’s Male Fantasies about how ‘women’ are constructed in the emerging transnational kleptocratic metastate: as objects to be hidden away, to be displayed, to be remade, to be be adorned with / draped over / inserted into luxury contexts, as paradoxical objects of the state that present news and mask agendas. On a certain level this is just Feminism 101, but that doesn’t quite capture the strange specificity of what’s going on.
