Not interested in the Krispy Kreme angle (PLZ, I’m a proper son of SoCal and can’t stand their crap). But I am interested in the roles that corps have played and can play in solving this mess. For ex, when big boxes like Home Depot adopted mask policies, that, far more govt policy at any level, set the standard that smaller retailers needed to follow nationally. KK offering a free donut any or every day for the rest of the year is pretty interesting: it’s an ongoing incentive, it’s simple, and it respects privacy (no data collected or stored). Oh, and in a very Southern chain not exactly associated with health. If more places — let’s say Chick-fil-A or Waffle Hut — thought about how they could drive vaccine acceptance, it could make a real difference. So props to Krispy Kreme for this.
