When a writer uses ‘eery’ or ‘eerily,’ it means s/he didn’t think it through. This is a brilliant example: lawyers for a white cop who shot a black man argue the black judge should recuse himself because he was stopped by the cops in a way that was ‘eerily similar.’ Right, cue the Twilight Zone music, woooooooo, it’s a mystery how that could happen — I mean, what are the chances?!
