I’m surprised at how snowflakey this response to Nancy McLean is. I’ve got some issues with her book, but she disposed of a lot of Farrell’s objections in the first 20 pages. He writes, “If what MacLean writes were true, the obvious solution for liberals and the left would be to come up with their own centralized approach.” NP, I’ll just come up with a liberal John Calhoun, a progressive state of Virginia, and pair of left-leaning Koch brothers.
